AuD10 started rapping when he was just 12 years old, about the same time as he learned to produce, “I’d make a beat and feel like there should be a full song here.” His single ‘Stop Hatin’ is out now and it is a good Hip-Hop track with a very catchy hook. “The single was produced by my production company A.M.G. It’s a record for all my fly people out there enjoying life. People are always gonna hate on you when you enjoy yourself. You just gotta remember that you’re the one winning.” I love the track and I cannot wait to see the visual which the rapper is working on right now, “The video is being treated as we speak. It was originally supposed to be done alongside the release but the most recent concept ended up becoming bigger than the original. We’re gonna take our time and make sure to give the audience the quality and entertainment they deserve. You can expect it around end of March, early April.”
AuD10 was born and raised in New York City, one of my favorite places in the world but what does he love about it? “I love the people and the food. The food is inspiring. It sets a standard that I will base all my future taste on. And the people condition you for any circumstance life may throw.” In his own words, AuD10 says that “2013 is the year of A.M.G.” I totally believe him as well when he tells me just what we can expect, “New music, new videos, new shows, a clothing line and God willing a college tour come August.” Something you may not know about the young artist is he is Jamaican and Chinese and a big sports fan, “I am a Lakers fan and a NE Patriot at heart.”
AuD10 has a very unique sound of his own but when he isn’t making records, he shares some of the artists he likes listening to, “Music is just getting back into the swing of music so not that many. I like Kendrick Lamar, always loved Jay-Z’s work, Drake, Justin Timberlake, Kanye and I’m liking what Big Sean has been doing.” If he could perform anywhere, he chooses a music festival that I myself cannot wait to go to one day, “I would love to perform at SXSW. The energy of the audience, the size of the stage, the exposure and just the ability to make that many new fans at one time is just moving.”
When I ask AuD10 who would play him in a movie based on his life, he gives me an answer that I definitely wasn’t expecting, “I know he’s white but I think Shia LaBeouf would play me pretty well,” he laughs. To his critics he says, “Keep listening I am never done,” and to his fans, “Stay tuned and tell a friend, big things coming your way very soon.” The best advice he was ever given was from his mother and it was, “‘Trust God and never worry for what you can do nothing about.’ It’s saved me so much stress over the years.” He is currently single but he knows exactly what he wants in a girlfriend, “I’m riding solo right now. In a lady I look for talented, witty, class wrapped beauty. I live an energetic life, I need her to be understanding of the pressures and responsibilities of a career…And she gotta know how to cook!” he smiles. The motto AuD10 lives his life by is, “Do it well, they will follow. A.M.G.”
A humble and talented guy, AuD10 and A.M.G. are names to keep an eye out for this year. Watch out for the visual for ‘Stop Hatin’ which will be up on my blog as soon as it is released.
